December 6 Ed checked into the hospital for a pacemaker installation and the procedure has went extremely well according to Ed. The only limitation is the use of his left arm for the time being. Ed checked out of the hospital at 7:00pm and is at home recovering. Give Ed a call and wish him the best. Ed has told me that he feels the best condition in many yearsafter the pacemaker installation . CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!:D

ET Boaters,
Some of us members might know that Ed has been working on health improvement. His doctor in Longview had Ed wear a heart monitor for some time and the results indicate that he is in need of a pacemaker. Ed and Alice have told me that the procedure (installation of a pacemaker) will be performed some time around December 6th Monday.
Everyone keep Ed in our prayers and time to wish Ed a speedy procedure and recovery. ![]()
GOD BLESS Ed and Family!

According to the Henderson City Manager, "I expect that the lake level will be back to full elevation by January 15 as we will be removing more of the foliage on the east side of the lake and dredging out those same areas so it won’t grow back." During the interim, we should make contact with the Flying Club in Marshall to assess the use of their pond, when flying is not being conducted.

Boaters,
Denise and myself made an outing to Henderson Texas to check on the progress at the park. The lake is drained about 1 1/2 feet and the siphon drain is still open and draining. I have added 25 pictures with captions to this website. The bottom line is that the area is much safer and looks great.

ETRC Boaters,
Ted is back with a new stainless steel replacement knee thanks to ETMC Henderson Hospital and the precision work of Dr Parrish of ETMC Center. I got released Tuesday after a few physical theropy sessions,. I want to expresss a great thanks to all the foiks that called, came by and kept me in their prayers. I am getting around with a walker and every day is a huge step toward total recovery. I am now on a three times a week Physical Theropy regiment. I will have the (42) staped removed from my knee October 22, which is two weeks out from the initial surgery.
Report from Kenneth was that the City of Henderson is draining the pond for clean up, so until we get an updated report, boating in Lake Forest Park has been suspended.
Thanks again Ted Wachter

Thanks to the coordination efforts of Tommy Haynes our club was in attendance at Big Mikes Hobbies Event this Sunday. Kenneth Koehn, Al Boles and Tommy brought out 3 boats and plenty of helpful information. The members handed out flyiers and cards to promote attention to our club events in Henderson. Our members set up a table with boats and Tommy printed off fliers, passed them and business cards to interested people. Al showed off his new build a VS-1 nitro hydro. Kenneth his Rio 51 and Tommy his UL-1 Superior. There was a large amount of interest and we may have picked up a couple of guys that said they'd be checking with us and would come and see us run at Henderson this next time.
Special thanks to Tommy, Kenneth and Al ![]()

Thanks to the East Texas RC Boaters and honorary club members, Odean Grindle, Chuck Herrington and James Grindle the 330 ft pins for the NAMBA regulation racing course have been set at Lake Forest Park in Henderson Texas. The new layout should pose not interferrance problems with the gazebo on turns 4 - 6. The East Texas RC Boaters crew, Ed and Alice Sidders, Kenneth Koehn, Donnie Ridgeway, Tommy Haynes and Mike Kimiling did an excellent job with the layout considering the winds were blowing and eventually the installtion crews and the battery powered boats were exhausted by noon. Many of the installers were sun and wind burned, but stayed the course to get the pins installed.
Kenneth has the bouys and hardware to complete the course installation and members will have to come together to complete this job. Hope that we will be able to make the 5 bouy installation.
A BIG CLUB THANKS TO ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETRC Boaters,
We had a Huge weekend out at Lake Forest Park in Henderson. Saturday was basically a mixed bag of boating. Al brought out a RC Sailboat and did some manuvers with little wind. Then the electric crew hit the water to drain some batteries. Tommy and TJ lined up the UL-1's and had a great time. Lots of laps were ran during the day. Ed Sidders brought out Miss Kitty with some special Orange Fuel (top secret mix). Miss Kitty ran flawlessly for about 10 laps of the pond, to return back to the duck walk.
Monday again the crew showed up in force. Ronnie, Donnie, Mike and Tommy were again doing some quality tuning at the pond. It was also reported that there was some good racing that day. You all can take a look at the Video Section and see for your own selfs.
Be extra careful not to park on the grass at the park. We can park at the lower road, but not on the grassy area.
Safe boating and hope to see all out on September 25 -26 weekend. Maybe we can make plans to set the course. We need to do some quality practice within the confines of a regulation course.
